One of the major developments for the Walk For Turtles 2011 is the school Awareness sessions. We will be going to 6 primary schools where we will educate upto 50 children aged between 8-10 years old about sea turtle conservation.
The sessions are an expansion of HOPE’s popular Turtles Need Trees Club which is run at the primary school on Pulau Perhentian.
Aim:- educate primary aged children about sea turtles and their threats through art.
Objectives
- Teach the children about sea turtle population decline and their threats.
- Involve the children in an interactive session which involves art.
- Teach the children about the dangers of litter to turtles and how to reuse litter.
The interactive sessions will be led by two professional artists
Anuar Abdullah – Ocean Illustrated
