One of the objectives of HOPE is to educate and empower the people of Malaysia in sea turtle conservation.  It is without doubt the best way to connect to the people of Malaysia efficiently is online this is why HOPE is using social media such as facebook, youtube and twitter to engage and then educate and empower the people of Malaysia.

Facebook – join now

Join our facebook fanpage and get updates from HOPE and our project sites. We also have regular photo discussions where we post a thought provoking photo and invite our members to share their thoughts regarding the photo. The photo discussions are a great way to engage people and get them thinking and talking about sea turtle conservation.  Occasionally we run competitions through our group and fanpages for example we ran a turtle song and video contest.  Therefore join our group to get the chance to be able to win one of our contests and get discounts on our volunteering programmes.

Twitter – follow us now

We have linked up our mobile phones to the Help Our Penyu twitter account so we can tweet about the latest turtle gossip as and when it happens.

You tube – watch us now

If a picture tells a thousand words, videos must tell an epic story.  We use an infra red video camera at our project in Perhentian which we use to capture video of turtles nesting which we can share online to the youtube community.  Watching sea turtles nest is a truly awe inspiring process and once people watch these videos they will be hooked on turtles for life.
