Help Our Penyu (HOPE or Persatuan Sukarelawan Membantu Penyu Kita Malaysia (registered Malaysian name)) will be the first independent (not formed by the government or university institutes) non-profit organistion focused on nesting sea turtle conservation throughout Terengganu.

Aim

To double the nesting sea turtle population of Terengganu, Malaysia by 2060, using the number of sea turtle nests laid in
2010.

Objectives

(1)  Empowering the public first with knowledge then with the
platform for them to get involved in sea turtle conservation
utilizing their skills.  It is only through EMPOWERMENT of the
people will substantial changes happen;

(2)     Direct conservation involving relevant stakeholders and the
general public in protection of sea turtles through developing
economic incentives with healthy sea turtle population numbers;

(3)      Increase scientific knowledge about sea turtle populations in the

State of Terengganu

(4)     Disperse knowledge to relevant stakeholders and the general public;

(5)      Facilitate government and private-sector collaborations in environmental volunteerism.

(6)       Support other environmental organisations in the areas of marketing and revenue generation through paid volunteerism programmes, capacity-building programmes and research.
